we finally checked out kidzu, a children’s museum in chapel hill. yay for free sunday afternoons!
there is a terrific free weekly children’s program at our local mall, done by two teachers who have a passion for teaching about recycling and the environment. after the story/song/teaching time, you get to make a craft to bring home. here rebecca is working on her lion (with some glue support from mommy of course). read more
here we go, an eating post. first, lunch at whole foods (conveniently right across from church). she thoroughly enjoyed her noodles, as well as some meatloaf and crabcake. figured out how to use a straw. after finishing and having eaten a large amount of food, she pointed to the salt and pepper shakers on the read more
a new pint-sized kitchen, that is. found a very affordable one on amazon, and was pre-warned that it required assembly. they weren’t kidding…! two hours later… worth the effort though. it’s the perfect size and keeps her busy (at least part of the time) while i’m cooking.
we discovered a great play area at the back of one of the stores in our local mall.
rebecca is officially walking and climbing stairs, which means that a visit to the playground is now way more interesting. luckily it is also relatively warm here in nc, so we didn’t have to worry about freezing. and she’s off! thank you auntie gina for my strawberry hat (very cute i must say)!
so glad rebecca decided to help unpack, since all the clothes were so neatly folded inside the suitcase…
okay, one very last group pic with her old posse (minus sophie the giraffe cuz she was left in nc) at 15 and a half months. click here to compare. and yes, it is the same onesie… a very stretched out onesie that is finally ready for retirement.
