happy year of the dragon! we had dinner at a chinese restaurant called “gourmet kingdom” and got some fortune cookies before leaving.

one more vancouver visit post. our last dinner at one of our favourite restaurants with really good shiao long baos. rebecca ate two. in fact, doesn’t rebecca look like one?…. small, round and juicy.

aren’t they pretty? delicious too.

before leaving vancouver, we had lunch with kimu, angie and micah. main attraction: the massive gravity-defying green tea smoothie.

the boys.

the girls.

the only place open for lunch on new year’s day was dim sum at kirin. waiting patiently for our table…

lunch at rangoli. equally beautiful and delicious.

rebecca really loved her naan.

we are getting our fill of sushi before heading back to nc. this is rebecca’s first encounter with a california roll!
christmas dinner was a feast hosted by cousin elizabeth (french chef in the making!). amazingly, she cooked a gourmet french meal for the entire extended family.
evening entertainment

lamb stew

seared scallops

also a cream of cauliflower soup, roast beef, sweet potato gratin, madeleines….too many dishes to list, all delicious!

christmas eve dinner was (what else?) hot pot!
