we are on vacation in waikiki, honolulu! we’ve been at the beach everyday (“shwimming! ocean!” as rebecca likes to remind us). here we are at a nearby lagoon.

we had a pho craving and went to “au petit cafe” to fill it. of course since we were there, we also had to order a vietnamese sub. someone reaching for the melt-in-your-mouth sub. “what are you lookin’ at?” and a decent bowl of pho.
we recently celebrated our 6th (!) wedding anniversary and treated ourselves with a dinner date at minami, a contemporary japanese restaurant in yaletown. they specialize in aburi, or flame-seared sushi, and specialty sauces to complement each fish instead of just soy sauce and wasabi. it was our first time there, and we weren’t disappointed! hamachi read more
