we recently celebrated our 6th (!) wedding anniversary and treated ourselves with a dinner date at minami, a contemporary japanese restaurant in yaletown. they specialize in aburi, or flame-seared sushi, and specialty sauces to complement each fish instead of just soy sauce and wasabi. it was our first time there, and we weren’t disappointed!

and a perfectly cooked aburi prime rib
