after a week of rain, the sun finally came out. we spent the afternoon at kits beach, along with half the city it seemed. playground with a view. we ended up bumping into some friends, and spent the rest of the time digging in the sand. helping uncle jacob with the sandcastle.
i celebrated my middle-agedness with family and friends at pizzeria barbarella. we ate five pizza pies. then home for birthday candles, cake and cupcakes. R was quite delighted that it was mommy’s birthday!
after church on this special sunday, we went to our favourite fish n’ chips place on granville island for lunch. there’s always a line up and wait, but it’s worth it! for dinner, we had a family bbq in the backyard, complete with a strawberry shortcake dessert. too much food! happy father’s day!!
one of the perks of being back in vancouver is … free and plentiful babysitting! we went on a double-date with our dear friends waymen and lynna, to “diva at the met” for some fine dining. the food was wonderful as expected and really interesting with its persian twist. the pre-meal “snack”. can’t exactly recall read more
we’ve missed grandma’s cooking… in particular her delicious chinese green onion pancakes! helping. frying. eating.
before heading to vancouver for our summer visit, we spent time with our church community group fellowshipping over food and then a campfire set up right in the driveway. roasted marshmallows for dessert!
playing with playgroup friends on the first hot day of the season: playground, picnic and bubbles! playgroup visit to the museum of life & science in durham. tons of stuff to see and do, including a little farmyard.
