holidays with the family

it’s always wonderful to see family again over the holidays. dinner at kirin. like uncle, like nephew. grandparents.

into the groove

in a moment of insanity, i decided shopping during boxing week might be a good idea. even with auntie and grandma in tow, it was still rather stressful with the crowds, blaring music, standing in line for the elevator with all the other strollers (had not thought of that…), feedings, and diaper changes. nonetheless, baby read more »

christmas festivities 3: boxing day hot pot

on boxing day, we had hot pot with kimu, angie and the kids, as well as pam visiting from nyc. baby got a “rebecca lamb” onesie from the chens, and a “i heart ny” onesie from pam. thanks guys!

christmas festivities 2 : christmas day

on christmas day we went to cousin elizabeth’s home for karaoke and food. elizabeth cooked and baked up a storm; my favourites were the lavender shortbread cookies and crab cakes. also impressive was the vast amount of meat provided.

my parents’ tree

it’s almost christmas and the tree is up. my parents’ artificial christmas tree has become a tradition in itself; it’s older than i am and truly vintage with it’s wooden trunk and individual colour-coded wire branches. i remember when i was a kid and accidentally broke the base of the tree. i thought i had read more »
