an artsy playdate

pig pickin’ 2012

i remember seeing signs for “pig pickin’” last year in chapel hill and having no idea what they were talking about. this year, we got to enjoy pig pickin’ firsthand with our church. apparently some guys got up at 4:30AM to start roasting a pig, which was ready for consumption 12 hours later.

fun with art

rebecca received an art easel for her 2nd birthday from her cousins jadon and priscilla, and it has been put to good use! yay for household items, ie. toilet paper rolls and coffee filters. it’s very possible that i enjoy it just as much as she does… maybe i need to get my own easel!

poet’s walk at ayr mount

we went to ayr mount, a historic plantation house in hillsborough. we didn’t go inside for the tour, but we enjoyed the perfect fall weather with a walk on its hiking trail called “poet’s walk”. we found a pretty pond and a lot of crunchy leaves to crunch. back to the house. next time we’ll read more »

pumpkin art

we’ve been trying out a music/art class for toddlers which has been a lot of fun. a couple of weeks ago was pumpkin art. the finished product! happy hallowe’en

always on the look out for sunday brunch spots. this was at “provence”, a french restaurant in carrboro. looking good!

japanese poster art

i finally went to the ackland art museum, and then quickly wondered why i had waited so long?! it’s free, and has a decent little collection. this fall, there is a unique exhibit featuring a wonderful collection of japanese posters. love!

two tutus and a tricycle
