yesterday was another busy day of sightseeing with louisa. we started off with a makeup makeover (in prep for lou’s wedding) and then had a lovely lunch at the top of the john hancock building: tuna ahi burgers, yum!

there were some interesting street performers…

it was quite busy in front of the buckingham fountain (apparently the one featured in ‘married with children’…). how many brides can you see?

in the evening, we all enjoyed a walk by the lake with a beautiful sunset and skyline.

louisa (bride-to-be) is here! we spent the day in downtown chicago, starting off with the art institute. and thanks to my membership, we skipped all the lineups and were the only ones (plus a group of smart nine year olds) learning about “american gothic”.

after a day of shopping, louisa let loose a bit.

in the evening, we met up with joe and chuck (lou’s friend from toronto) and went to the annual gospel festival which featured free music at millenium park. we had a picnic dinner with chicago deep dish pizza and then joined in with all the clapping and hand waving.
