lincoln park zoo

over the weekend we were able to spend time with our friends sal, renata and mirko from yvr. mirko was keen to go to the Lincoln Park Zoo (a free zoo right in the middle of chicago, apparently established in 1868!) which seemed like a great idea. we were quite impressed; we saw rhinos and read more »

lost and found

this is a good story. a couple of months ago, my mom received a call from a stranger. the woman on the line explained that she had a box of photos belonging to our family. confused but curious, my mom went to pick it up and was shocked to find it filled with photos which read more »

hamburger university

today i attended hamburger university. seriously, that is what it’s called; the training facility on the 80 acre campus of McDonald’s Corporation which is located in a suburb of chicago. i was there for a medical conference… not to learn about big macs, of course. however i did pick up a nutrition facts pamphlet and read more »

ben folds concert

we were lucky to get tickets to a ben folds concert on campus, which was part of his midwest campus tour. the music was great, and it was amazing watching ben folds at the piano; he plays around with the strings to make different sounds and plays really hard, even breaking a piano string in read more »
