poet’s walk at ayr mount

we went to ayr mount, a historic plantation house in hillsborough. we didn’t go inside for the tour, but we enjoyed the perfect fall weather with a walk on its hiking trail called “poet’s walk”. we found a pretty pond and a lot of crunchy leaves to crunch. back to the house. next time we’ll read more »

i finally went to the ackland art museum, and then quickly wondered why i had waited so long?! it’s free, and has a decent little collection. this fall, there is a unique exhibit featuring a wonderful collection of japanese posters. love!

two tutus and a tricycle

potty training is in full swing and we’ve got stickers to show for it. tigger! tigger position!

chapel hill farmer’s market

we dropped by the saturday farmer’s market in chapel hill. bought some yellow grape tomatoes and a little fabric-made basket (passed on the worms and alpaca yarn though). and then got our faces painted!

city of frogs

we all went to see a wonderful outdoor puppet show called “City of Frogs”, by the Paperhand Puppet Initiative. It took place at Forest Theatre, a stone amphitheatre surrounded by trees at the edge of campus. waiting for the show to start! beautiful sets and bigger than life puppets, filled with singing and dancing. she read more »

happy 2nd birthday

she is 2 years old: a full-fledged terrible two and sunshine all wrapped up in one package. current interests/obsessions include elmo, “picky mouse”, eating with chopsticks, counting, and well, mommy. of course i’m sure that will change next week. we spent a quiet day at home with birthday balloons and cake. endless fun. the anticipation. read more »
