thanksgiving day in charleston (part two): a walk through historic downtown

after lunch and a quick rest in the afternoon, we went on a walking tour of historic downtown. luckily the stroller did its magic, and rebecca fell asleep for a nap. from our hotel we started out going down meeting street to the affluent south of broad neighborhood.

we walked to the battery, which is a harbor-front park where we rested a bit under the palmetto trees and enjoyed the view.

we continued along bay street. notice the beautiful detailing around the door!

the gate design matched the window above the front door. this is also about when rebecca’s nap (prematurely and sadly) ended.

and finally up along church street with the sun beginning to set.

we loved the character and architecture of the area, and could have spent hours more wandering around if we had the time and energy!
