we planned to spend three days in the theme parks. day one we went to magic kingdom of course! hardest part was getting there. we opted to drive rather than shuttle from the hotel, then walk, then ferry.

pretty hot and crowded by the time we got there. not too happy yet…

straight to fantasyland and a few rides. air-conditioning and cute singing dolls brought out smiles all around in it’s a small world.

pretty soon it was time for an ice cream break.

walking around the cinderella castle.

after lunch, a nap (and a roller coaster at big thunder mountain for the adults), we were ready for more!

popsicle break.

more castle pictures.

my sweaty little mouseketeer. i had to bribe her with a cookie to make her stand still.

on our way out we decided to attempt some character greets. first, mickey mouse! she managed a nervous handshake and kiss on the nose. (more pics later for mickey mouse visit #2)

then we waited for the princesses. excited and eager until….

we got there. after trying to crawl across the room to escape, she hung to helen for dear life. poor rapunzel. (the princesses were kind of impressive actually! so in character it was really fun).

a tad more relaxed with aurora although she kept pointing to the door.

and a nervous smile with cinderella.

it was a memorable end to a hot but happy day one at magic kingdom!
