So my exams are done now. I wrote my last one earlier today starting at about noon: four essay questions in four hours. It’s hard to say I’m relieved, though, because the reality hasn’t fully sunk in yet.
You know that feeling when you’ve put off so many non-essential things for so long to focus on just one thing… and then that one thing ends and you don’t know what to do next? Should I go out and do something now? Go tidy up the apartment? Or go read that novel I’ve been putting off? On second thought, I should probably avoid any serious mental activity for a while… I feel like I need to go sit on a beach somewhere and just stare at the ocean for five days.

The beach sounds like a great plan. I’d include lots of sleep and some very serious doing-nothing-with-loved-ones while you’re at it. Congratulations on surviving the comps, candidate! …I say that now because I have no doubts.
horray! way to go, joseph!! congratulations!
dude, you’re a huge nerd. after all that to consider picking up a novel?!?!? super super nerdom, dude. just relax. go laugh with your wife.

“HOOray! HOOray, said little joey… his face lit up with joy and excitement as he finished the last test question and fell back into his chair.”
hey, well done. glad i was able to help you through the hebrew and other shiite, stuff. now come back home and take us out for sushi.
There’s a lovely beach just five blocks from my place and you’re welcome to come by anytime. I stare at the ocean often and it’s very therapeutic : ) Congratulations on finishing your exams.
