jeff wall exhibit

the art institute is featuring a special exhibit of jeff wall, a vancouver-based artist, who is especially known for his photography mounted in aluminum light boxes. it was really interesting to see his artwork in person. my favorites were After “Invisible Man” by Ralph Ellison, the Prologue and A Sudden Gust of Wind (after Hokusai)…the lightbox made me feel like i was looking outside. it was also fun trying to identify vancouver landmarks.

Hi from Berlin! I’m hoping the jeff wall exhibition is still up when I’m back in Chicago… I have read about some of his work (the incredible amount of choreography that goes into them) and would love to seem them in person. I’ve been visiting a ton of museums here, and have one week left to go.

Happy belated b-day to Joe =)

    best wishes!
