there was once upon a time when i thought i would marry trevor linden…i guess i can’t anymore, but i still love him. thank you canucks and cable tv. we’ve been able to catch most of the playoff games so far: if we’re lucky, we sometimes get the cbc hockey night in canada telecast with american intermission banter. it’s not the best thing for joe’s studying or my nerves, but we’ll keep watching as long as the network keeps playing the games. go canucks!!

hey, once upon a time i thought I would marry trevor linden too! in fact, he’s such a good marrying age for me.
a couple of years ago, i asked kimu how his hockey game at lunch was (when he used to play at lunchtime at BCIT) and he said, “good, i scored two goals.” that very night i dreampt that I was married to trevor linden and when he came home i asked him “how was the game?” and he also said, “good, i scored two goals.” when I told kimu and our nephew charles (when he was living with us) the next day, kimu said, “that was ME!” charles still refers to trevor as “auntie angie’s husband”.

On the flight back from my conference the pilot broke his 2.5-hr silence in order to announce the final score with imperfectly-maintained dispassion. I mustered a very tired hometown cheer. It was a nice welcome home to Canada
