Can you believe, the mayor of Chicago called us at home yesterday? OK fine, it wasn’t actually him, only a pre-recorded message asking us to vote. Everyday, we receive at least a couple phone calls from machines, which has quickly become a pet peeve. A typical call would be like this: (ring) “Hello?” (two second pause…click) “Hi! Don’t hang up! This is a very important…” I hang up. I did get humans a couple times, but once it was the Chicago Police trying to fundraise, which was rather intimidating, and the other time, after I declined to donate, the guy insisted that I should because apparently, I sound like a really nice person. I hung up.
