chinese new year dinner at aunt agnes. we enjoyed a huge spread of food with the entire family. lai see… hong bao… red envelopes galore!

on christmas day we went to cousin elizabeth’s home for karaoke and food. elizabeth cooked and baked up a storm; my favourites were the lavender shortbread cookies and crab cakes. also impressive was the vast amount of meat provided.
t’was a busy week of christmas parties… on christmas eve we hosted some family friends for dinner and enjoyed chef helen’s delicious food which included a warm scallop salad and rack of lamb: baby feeling satisfied after her christmas eve meal… not sure why (except that maybe we’re impatient), but the T household opens gifts read more
instead of candy, we got dinner! fig, prosciutto and mint crostini: pasta carbonara (both appetizer and pasta were from jamie oliver): pumpkin spice donuts from granville island: thank you auntie helen!
after church on sunday, we went to granville island so helen could buy groceries for dinner. it was the perfect opportunity to take baby out in the stroller. beautiful fruit stand she was still in her lion costume and had a lot of admirers… someone even asked to take a photo of her! stay tuned read more

we had a potluck at jane and rich’s home with a number of my old friends. everybody cooked yummy food! daphne even brought me a special strawberry shortcake cupcake from NYC because i couldn’t eat the sushi she ordered. very sweet (daphne and the cupcake)!
