healthy living

i spent yesterday and today 8am-6pm at a conference on women’s health. i LOVE a good conference! call me a nerd, but it feels so good to learn something useful. AND it only cost me $35 after getting a huge discount, which is crazy cheap for a medical conference that included lunch and education credits!! read more »

the art of eating shiao long baos

my family in vancouver found this restaurant which in my opinion makes the perfect shiao long baos. super thin skin that very rarely breaks. and check out that juice!! i like to eat mine carefully: 1. gently pick up with chopsticks. 2. nibble a small hole on one side. 3. carefully pour the precious juice read more »

meet stella

meet stella, a one and a half pound maltese-yorkie puppy (and her lovely owner julie!). about the same size as a stuffed animal, except cuter. she could sit in my hand, and we all know how small that is! i’m generally not a big dog person, but lately i’ve been meeting the sweetest canines. i’ve read more »

shoe heaven

we had a great time shoe shopping in hong kong. we splurged. i’ve always thought the reason i can never find shoes is because my feet are gorked. it turns out they’re only partially gorked (love my orthotics); i just have unusually small feet for north america. i bought a pair of super cute but read more »

hong kong trip – mar 2007

Jet-lagged but hungry, we made our first stop for food. The restaurant had autographs by various Hong Kong celebrities all over the walls. On our first full day, we started with exploring Kowloon, found jumbo size lemon Vita and hung out with Charlie over coffee and Bruce on the Avenue of Stars at Victoria Harbour. read more »
