i had a double-take when i saw this in the grocery store. initially i thought it was just our store’s fault, but then i learned that this is actually a normal price for organic avocadoes. i wish i could buy more organic food, but i’m not sure my wallet could handle it.

chris and i have tried to make a (soft, to be broken when broke) rule to buy any produce we eat raw organic, and anything we’re going to cook can be non-organic (unless we’re feeling flush).
it’s just too expensive to be healthy nowadays. it’s well understood that obesity is an epidemic especially in the US but when a salad costs 5.99 and a cheeseburger costs 99 cents at MiccyD’s it’s not hard to understand where the problem comes from.
Hey there Sherwin / Joe =)
I feel like I’m living vicariously through the both of you… I’ll have to find a way to update my blog too…
Bu oddly enough, currently being situated in a tropical setting I have the opposite problem… I only pay $0.50 / lb of avacado… but I pay almost $2.50 / lb of oranges…
even better… some places around here have avacado trees in their backyard… maybe we should work out a shipping routine.. haha..
