a couple of days after rebecca’s birthday, we were off on our big move to chapel hill, north carolina. luckily most of our stuff was already there (via joseph’s 5 day drive across the continent a few weeks earlier). even so, we had a lot of luggage between me and baby. needless to say, goodbyes were hard… we’ll miss our families a lot.
YVR to ORD. it was rebecca’s first time flying and she did pretty well; some crying from over-tiredness mixed with over-excitedness in the first part of the flight, but she eventually was able to sleep. back to her happy self after a nap and some macaroni:

at Ohare airport in Chicago. had to take a pic of the psychedelic underpass (joseph and i have passed through it WAY too many times).

a surprisingly good sandwich at Ohare, from ‘Tortas’ by Rick Bayless.

ORD to RDU. playing in the window seat, and then a nap….all the way until touchdown.

bleary-eyed in front of baggage claim at Raleigh-Durham airport.

all our luggage on a single trolley, which was not an easy task. an even less easy task was fitting all of it plus stroller into our volkswagen jetta (which we did).

then we drove home to chapel hill. we made it!!
