The following chart pretty much speaks for itself… it plots water usage in Edmonton two Sundays ago (Feb 28, 2010), during the Canada-U.S. Olympic gold medal hockey game (click image for link to article):

It was just one of those things that had been circulating on the web the past couple of days… a friend of mine told me about it and so I googled it. The chart itself apparently came from an internal publication to employees of EPCOR (the water utility in Edmonton).
