some of you may know that hyde park is barack obama’s home neighborhood. not surprisingly, many hyde parkers are very supportive of his campaign. at our local walgreens, you will find OBAMA YES WE CAN buttons, OBAMA FOR PRESIDENT baseball caps and t-shirts, obama books, and now for only $14.99, even BARACK OBAMA DANCING ROCKSTAR action figures.

we celebrated joe’s birthday with a night at second city, an improv club in chicago known for featuring many comedians who later became more well known, including people like tina fey and steve carrell. it was really fun and impressive to watch the actors up close! we’ll definitely have to go back another day.

before helen and mom left, we had time on the weekend to go the zoo! yes although we are 3-0 not 3, we went with our mommy and had fun looking at the animals. we saw camels eating a snack,

beautiful giraffes,

a sleeping aardvark and many more.
