hamburger university

today i attended hamburger university. seriously, that is what it’s called; the training facility on the 80 acre campus of McDonald’s Corporation which is located in a suburb of chicago. i was there for a medical conference… not to learn about big macs, of course. however i did pick up a nutrition facts pamphlet and learned that a big mac is 560 calories. if you’re curious about the calorie content of any other mcdonald’s food item, just let me know!

i’m happy to say, my new year’s resolution of no mcdonald’s is still in tact.

having said that, i would’ve come with you on that trip just to see what it’s like!

How many calories in a McChicken? What if I eat it without the sauce? =) Glad to hear that medicine gives you the opportunity to see such exotic and rare sights!

hamburger u actually isn’t as tacky looking as you would expect. a bit out of date looking actually. there was a small museum featuring vintage mcdonald’s paraphenalia, which was kind of neat. unfortunately i didn’t bring my camera. we went mcdonald’s-free too for a long time, until we were trapped in an airport with nothing else to eat and tried their grilled chicken snack wraps. not bad.

McChicken: 370 Cal (including 50 cal sauce), which actually doesn’t seem too bad for a burger that size. it has the lowest cal count compared to all the other burgers (except for the Cheeseburger 310 cal). besides, you HAVE to have the sauce!

what I want to know is how much “chicken” is actually in the McChicken.

how about the filet-o-fish? Doesn’t that contain less calories than the McChick?

you would think so because it is smaller…but in fact a Filet-O-Fish apparently has 400 calories. bummer.
