today is our first wedding anniversary! we celebrated by exchanging cards…

then we went to the suburb of Oak Park and did a walking tour in the neighbourhood of various homes designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, including the architect’s own home and studio. this house is called the Winslow house, and was built in 1893.

finally we had dinner at a latin restaurant called MAS. happy anniversary!

as joe and i get ready to leave for chicago in a couple days, we’ve tried to catch up with a few more friends.

a lovely wedding and then evening reception at brock house. congratulations ryan and stephanie! too bad it was raining, but that didn’t dampen our appetites (yummy seafood buffet). weddings are always a great time to catch up with friends. ei-ner-son!

so who’s coming to visit us?…

we had dinner with roger and cynthia at “guu with garlic” for some japanese tapas, which i gather is all the rage in vancouver. roger introduced us to a new drink called shochu (?sp). cheers!

after dinner in richmond, we went to check out the nightmarket with my family. we indulged in some red bean and shaved ice while we wandered through the tents. altogether, we got a cell phone case for dad($5), six tanktops for grandma ($20), and various berets and hair things for the girls($15).

got to catch up with some fellow residency friends. (nice eyelashes… )

This morning I went to visit Regent College for the first time in over a year, and I must say that the transformation is quite remarkable. In particular, the newly expanded and renovated Regent-Carey library looks amazing. For those of you who haven’t seen it in a while, you can find some photos of the library opening (from back in January) here.
